Job Description

The Lab Analyst works in a fast-paced, customer-oriented team laboratory environment to analyze finished product samples prior to commercial release. This role is part of a dynamic, growing laboratory within an expanding manufacturing site, offering opportunities to learn new skills, collaborate cross-functionally, and contribute to the launch and ongoing production of innovative animal health medications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples accurately and efficiently for analysis, following established laboratory procedures.
• Operate a variety of laboratory equipment to perform qualitative and quantitative assays on finished product samples.
• Perform, document, and record checks on all assays to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable standards.
• Interpret and evaluate analytical data for accuracy, precision, trends, and potential Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) impact.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and complete laboratory records in accordance with cGMP and internal documentation requirements.
• Recommend and execute process improvements to continually enhance laboratory performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Demonstrate high productivity and the ability to multi-task while maintaining a low error rate and strong attention to detail.
• Apply good laboratory techniques at all times to avoid cross-contamination or misidentification of samples.
• Follow written procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) consistently and precisely.
• Participate in manufacturing quality control support activities, such as cleaning verification, as needed.
• Collaborate closely with microbiologists, chemists, and other team members to support day-to-day laboratory operations.
• Engage flexibly and proactively in a changing environment, adapting to new methods, technologies, and priorities.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, quality, and ownership within the laboratory and broader site.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of industry laboratory testing experience in a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, chemical, medical device, food and beverage, microbiology, or environmental monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience performing qualitative and quantitative laboratory assays.
• Ability to interpret and evaluate analytical data for accuracy, precision, and trends.
• Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to maintain a low error rate while managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to follow written procedures and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Good laboratory technique, including practices that prevent cross-contamination and sample misidentification.
• Experience working in a team-oriented laboratory environment with a customer-focused mindset.
• Willingness and ability to learn new methods, technologies, and processes.
• Effective communication skills to document results clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of cGMP principles and their application in a manufacturing laboratory setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, pH measurement, conductivity testing, ELISA, and microbiological methods.
• Exposure to environmental monitoring practices in a manufacturing or laboratory setting.
• Experience using laboratory data systems such as Empower or similar platforms is beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in a large, cross-functional team and contribute to a collaborative culture.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to recommend and support process improvements.
• Ownership mentality and comfort working in a new, rapidly evolving site with growing capabilities.

Work Environment

This role is based in a brand-new, approximately 640,000-square-foot manufacturing and laboratory facility in Lithia Springs, GA. The plant has completed construction and the laboratories are fully built out, providing modern equipment and infrastructure to support microbiologists, chemists, and other scientific staff in their daily activities. The site focuses on manufacturing advanced animal health products, including monoclonal antibody therapies, and is in a growth phase with significant opportunity to shape processes and culture. Working hours follow a roughly Monday through Friday schedule, around 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility to accommodate local traffic patterns and late afternoon meetings, which are common. The environment emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and an ownership mentality as the site scales up production. During the contract period, team members receive 6 paid holidays and 40 hours of paid time off (PTO). Dress code aligns with standard laboratory and manufacturing safety requirements, including appropriate attire and use of personal protective equipment as needed for work in lab and production areas.

This is a Contract position based out of Lithia Springs, GA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
