Job Description

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Provides a high level of administrative support to the Patient Benefits Section Supervisor.
• Supervises and provides leadership for the Health Benefits staff.
• Computes technology, medical information, communication skills, and leadership qualities in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ensures accurate, timely, and consistent data is entered into the VHA computer systems.
• Establishes in-depth training to ensure that Patient Benefits staff and other identified Medical Center staff are educated and accountable for data management.
• Investigates patient complaints concerning eligibility issues and prepares written responses.
• Makes daily and frequent personal and telephone contact with variety of individuals including physicians, nurses, technical support staff, veterans, families of veterans, and veteran service officers.
• Applies an extensive knowledge of various health care system policies and publications pertinent to patient care (monetary benefits, applying for death benefits, eligibility for care, etc.)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Telework: This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
