About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Allied Level 2 CT Tech Specialty: Exception: CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Weekday Evenings Hours per Shift: 5x8.0, 3pm - 11:30pm EST, on call/callback, holidays, and occasional weekends Experience: Minimum 2 years of CT experience, Level 1 Trauma Center experience License: NYS Rad Tech license (must be obtained before starting position) Certifications: ARRT, BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Must-Have: - HCPs currently registered in NYS must have injection therapy certification at the time of employment - Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology - Effective written and verbal communication skills - A patient and compassionate disposition - Team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment Description: Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within the designated system. Ensure images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred. Willingness to complete injection certification during the orientation process is necessary.
