Concrete Project Engineer

We have a culture of growth and achievement powered by innovation, supported by purpose and joy.Big-D Construction has an opportunity for a Concrete Project Engineer to join our team of construction professionals in Salt Lake City, UT.The Concrete Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of concrete construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about construction and concrete work.Key responsibilities includeReview and interpret contract documents, plans, and specifications to support project executionAssist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination of concrete operationsPrepare, track, and manage submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and project documentationSupport procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractorsCollaborate with field crews to ensure work aligns with design and quality standardsAssist in maintaining and updating project schedulesDevelop and utilize 3D models of concrete structures for planning and coordinationMonitor project progress and identify potential issues or delaysMaintain strong communication with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and suppliersRequired Skills & QualificationsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and detailsUnderstanding of concrete construction methods, sequencing, and best practicesExperience with submittals, RFIs, and procurement processesStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency in construction software and 3D modeling tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, or similar)Excellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fieldPrevious experience in concrete construction or commercial construction projectsFamiliarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6, Planera, Microsoft Project, etc.)Experience with 3d modelling software: Tekla, revit, civil 3dKey TraitsPassionate about construction and building projectsDriven, proactive, and eager to learnHigh level of accountability and ownershipAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentBenefits:100% Medical & Dental premiums paid forHealth Savings Account (HSA) with Employer ContributionPTO & Paid Holidays401k with matchLife Insurance & Disability paid forSupplemental Benefits availableCompany Vehicle, Phone, and computerAdditional Job Information Interested applicants must submit their resume for consideration using our applicant tracking system.
