Location: Lincoln, NE Application Review Date: 02/26/2026 Description of Work This is a full‑time staff attorney position in the Office of the Vice President & General Counsel of the University of Nebraska (OGC). The OGC provides legal services to the Board of Regents, the President, the Chancellors, administrative officers, and others on the four campuses of the University system and within the Office of the President. Minimum Required Qualifications B.A. / B.S. plus an earned J.D. degree from an accredited law school and three years of relevant experience as a practicing attorney Member in good standing of the State Bar of Nebraska, or permitted to be admitted in Nebraska under Nebraska Court Rule section 3‑119 as a Class 1‑B applicant within one year following the hiring date Preferred Qualifications Prior experience at an institution of higher education, public employer, non‑profit entity, or law firm Three years’ experience drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide variety of contracts Experience with collegiate or professional athletics, including a working knowledge of the financial and operational goals of a Division I collegiate athletics program Ideal Candidate High level of attention to detail Excellent independent judgment and decision‑making skills Excellent oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills Aptitude for strategic thinking and an ability to anticipate problems Track record of timely completion of projects and assignments Effective organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks Strong ability to summarize and explain legal complexities Work Location Lincoln, NE Pre‑Placement Driving Record Review Required Yes Criminal History Background Check Required Yes How to Apply To apply, visit Contact Direct questions about the position to: View email address on click.appcast.io Direct questions about the online application process to: View phone number on click.appcast.io #J-18808-Ljbffr
