Location: FCI Bennettsville: 696 Muckerman Rd. Bennettsville, SC 29512. This is a Federal Correctional Facility.

Hours: Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break. Excluding Federal holidays.

Responsibilities:

\n
• Collecting clinical laboratory specimens (human blood) for inmate testing requested by a clinician. Collection of specimens will be accomplished via routine venipuncture and capillary procedures.
\n
• Collecting other body fluids and clinical specimens (i.e. stool, urine, sputum). Incumbent instructs patients on proper collection of specimens such as stool and urine for laboratory analysis.
\n
• Is responsible for specimen processing and transport. Processing will include, but not be limited to, specimen centrifugation, spin down, mixing, preparing and packaging specimens for shipment.
\n
• Appropriately handles infectious and bio-hazardous waste.
\n
• Assists laboratory staff in a variety of laboratory related activities, including but not limited to, ordering entry into a computerized laboratory information system, preparing laboratory related paperwork, storing and inventorying laboratory supplies.
\n
• Will maintain required competency training as outlined by accrediting standards and local policy.
\n
• Maintain accurate inventory of all needles and syringes used to replace sub stock inventory.
\n
• Scanning of medical records and reports as needed.
\n
• Conduct routine checks of equipment and temperature logs.
\n
• Maintain daily sick call list/call out.

Requirements:

\n
• Applicants must have/provide CPR/BLS license
\n
• Must provide diplomas and transcripts and Phlebotomy licensure
\n
• Must be a U.S. citizen
