Senior Auditor – Key Responsibilities & Qualifications: Lead audit, review, compilation, and attest engagements from planning through completion while ensuring compliance with firm methodology and professional standards. Supervise and coordinate staff and interns, including task assignment, priority setting, progress monitoring, coaching, and performance feedback. Perform and document risk-based testing, analytical procedures, substantive testing, internal control walkthroughs, and complex audit procedures. Prepare and review audit workpapers for accuracy, completeness, proper documentation, and manager review. Manage assigned audit sections, resolve open items, document conclusions, and identify potential audit issues or control deficiencies. Review financial statements, disclosures, management letters, and other client deliverables for accuracy and completeness. Act as a key client contact, coordinating PBC requests, audit questions, sample selections, open items, timelines, and engagement status. Identify and elevate unusual transactions, control issues, engagement risks, and project delays, while recommending appropriate next steps. Monitor engagement budgets, deadlines, workflow, and resource requirements and proactively communicate changes or support needs. Apply professional skepticism and maintain compliance with audit quality, documentation, firm methodology, and software standards. Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, professional, and solutions-oriented communication. Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and guidance to staff and interns on audit documentation, client communication, time management, and firm processes. Review staff work and provide constructive, actionable feedback to improve individual performance, documentation quality, and overall audit quality. Demonstrate strong accountability, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines. Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, client service, analytical, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively while managing multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines. Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit methodology, workpaper standards, and professional standards applicable to attest engagements. Experience serving closely held businesses, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, churches, employee benefit plans, or similar clients is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit software, with experience using CCH Engagement, Guided Assurance, Suralink, Checkpoint, or similar platforms preferred. CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure preferred. 5+ years of public accounting or comparable audit experience.
