Radiology Technologist

Description This position offers a $1,000 sign‑on bonus. Hours Of Operation M-F, 8am-10pm; Sat/Sun, 8am-8pm. Employment Type Full time. Shift Rotating Shift. Shift Differentials $2.00 per hour during regular business hours. $4.00 per hour after 5pm and weekends. Position Description This position operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain quality digital images of designated body portions for interpretation by physicians. Essential Job Functions Confirms patient identity, checks in patients, schedules appointments, creates Radiology Module, greets and courteously escorts patients, interprets patient histories and physician instructions, prepares patients for procedures using aseptic and sterile technique, positions patients for radiologic examination, selects exposure factors, takes exposure and processes images, practices radiation protection, performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, may operate diagnostic bone density equipment, records pertinent information on requisitions, directly enters medication/lab/radiology orders into the EMR, responds to patient emergencies, cleans work area, performs limited maintenance of equipment, performs image‑management duties within PACS/NextGen, documents patient information promptly and accurately, assists with patient encounter forms, sends letters and reminders, serves as liaison, ensures timely follow‑up, maintains compliance with government and payer requirements, provides support to clerical and clinical staff, performs other duties as assigned and works within scope of Radiology Technology/Clinical Densitometry certification. Essential Qualifications EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology or equivalent education and experience. For bone density: accredited school of clinical densitometry technology or equivalent. CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Valid CPR certification. Valid registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. For bone density: valid certification by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry or ability to become certified within 90 days of hire. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1‑2 years’ experience. Minimum Environmental Expectations This job operates in a medical facility with regular walking, patient care equipment, hazardous materials, sharps, x‑rays, bodily fluids, potential exposure to infectious diseases; significant interaction with patients; stressful; competing priorities.
