Chemical Operator – 2nd & 3rd Shift Wanted!Salary range is $24.00+ per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential pay, with an excellent personal time off policy and 401(k) and Profit-Sharing!About the JobGFS Chemicals is seeking a Chemical Operator to join our Inorganic Division at our McKinley Avenue location. The Chemical Operator is responsible for performing fascinating processes to manufacture chemicals used in automotive, pharmaceuticals, electronics, agrochemical, and energy commercial applications. You will learn multiple work centers over time allowing a changing work environment each day.Key ResponsibilitiesManufacture products as directed by management and chemical prepsThis includes loading reactors, running reactions, unloading reactors & dryers, coordinating with distillation and quality control, and packaging of finished productFollow safety protocols and adhere to all safety regulations in the handling and storage of chemicalsFollow all environmental regulations and procedures for chemical waste disposalConduct routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work areaMay need to perform minor maintenance repairs and routine inspectionsProperly record and maintain accurate documentation of production activities, including batch records, log books and equipment performance recordsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing process improvementsOperate and navigate the automation control system to perform the following functionsStart, transfer, and complete a chemical processMonitor the process for fluctuations with flow rates, pH level, temperature, and volumeRespond and resolve alarmsQualifications & RequirementsEducation & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required3+ years of prior industrial/manufacturing experience preferredPrevious work experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferredPrevious work experience with hazardous chemicals preferredCore Skills:Ability to drive a forklift after trainingAbility to navigate, control, and read instructions with an automation control systemGood organizational and housekeeping practicesProblem solving and analytical math skills including metrics & basic algebraAbility to write numbers and letters legiblyThe ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
