Structural Analysis Engineer

Job Description

Leads development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements to establish system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance. Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution, and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and recommending improvements. Develops analytical processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of development efforts. Works under minimal direction.

Position Responsibilities

• Evaluate strength of structural non-conformances and repairs
\n
• Apply knowledge of structural analysis principles to assess and resolve product and process issues discovered throughout the product lifecycle
\n
• Analyze MRB dispositions for structural integrity and identify, document, and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety
\n
• Provide alternate repair recommendations as necessary to Liaison Engineering to meet structural requirements
\n
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and representatives to support certification of aircraft structural components
\n
• Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and recommending improvements
\n
• Maintain a positive, proactive mindset and effectively manage multiple assignments with a sense of urgency
\n
• Utilize LEAN best practices
\n
• Proactively collaborate with customers and build positive relationships with cross-functional teams, including Liaison Engineering and Operations
\n
• Communicate effectively with engineering peers, team members, and management
\n

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

\n

\n
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree from an accredited program in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
\n
• 9+ years of experience in aircraft structural analysis, stress analysis, or a combination of relevant education and technical experience
\n

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

\n

\n
• 10+ years of experience supporting commercial aircraft structures programs
\n
• 5+ years of experience providing production support as a stress analyst in an aerospace manufacturing environment
\n
• Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD), CATIA, ENOVIA, and Product Data Management (PDM) systems
\n
• Experience with aerospace structural analysis and engineering tools
\n
• Ability to support occasional domestic travel (up to 10%)
\n
• Experience with composite structures and stress analysis
\n
• Ability to lead technical efforts and work independently within a team environment
\n
• Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to make decisions and deliver results
\n
• Demonstrated commitment to solving problems and meeting commitments
