Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical (MS) Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a position located in Newburgh, Indiana. This role involves providing care to complex medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including those post-cardiac catheterizations, with a focus on neuro and cardiac assessments. The position requires skill in telemetry interpretation, neuro assessments, and managing critically ill patients in a dynamic hospital environment.

Job Details:

• Position: Neuro Cardiac Unit MS/Telemetry RN - Days
• Shift: 12-hour days, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, with bi-weekly orientation
• Location: Newburgh, Indiana (approximately 8 miles from the organizations facility)
• Schedule: Days shift; on-call and holiday rotations as specified
• Float Requirements: First to float within skillset to nearby campuses; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible with 2-hour notice
• Certifications: Must have current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of strong Tele/Medical Surgical experience, at least one prior travel assignment, trauma level II experience is preferred
  • Recent EPIC charting experience (will require checkoff)
  • Skills in NIHSS, dysphagia screening, neuro assessments, telemetry interpretation (12-lead EKG), initiating/titrating drips (Insulin, cardiac medications, Heparin), and post-cardiac cath recovery (femoral and TR bands)
  • Must pass telemetry tests (travelers only)
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • NG/PEG tube management, PIV insertion, Tikosyn administration, chest tubes
• Patient Population: Includes complex Med/Surg/Telemetry patients, post-cardiac cath procedures, CVA/TIA, ICD, abdominal surgeries, oncology, and cranial surgeries
• Unit Information:
  • 32 beds, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:4-5 during days shift
  • Proactive, welcoming staff and knowledgeable charge nurses, supportive clinical environment
• Additional Notes:
  • No Covid-19 vaccine requirement at this time (subject to change)
  • May require precepting of students and new hires
  • No competing health system or agency logos on scrubs (navy blue scrubs required)
  • Termination possible after three call-ins
