Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. As a Family Support Worker in the Florida Case Management Organization (CMO) department, you will provide transportation of youth to/from out-of-home care placements, to/from school, and to/from visits. Family Support Workers also supervise parent visits. A typical day as a Family Support Worker will include managing crises, de-escalating youth and adults, and driving. As a Family Support Worker, a large amount of time is spent face-to-face with high-needs teenagers, transporting them. This is a full-time hourly job. There is no on-call duty. Hours and days can vary week to week based on need. This includes daytime, nights, and weekends. No second job is permitted. Our office is located in Maitland. This role will have a hybrid schedule, sometimes working in the office, from home, or on the road transporting clients. Transporting may require traveling long distances in Florida, depending on the needs of the clients. What does this position offer?
