Director of Operations

Start Date on or after 10/05/2026 Department: PMG Parrish Medical Group Schedule/Status: Days; Full Time Standard Hours/Week: 40 General Description: The Director of Operations is responsible for promoting and demonstrating Parrish Healthcare’s Culture of Choice® while providing strategic, operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for Parrish Medical Group’s multi-specialty practices. The Director ensures that assigned practice locations and service lines have the people, processes, resources, technology, and performance metrics necessary to deliver safe, reliable, patient-centered care; support provider and care partner engagement; optimize access, productivity, revenue cycle performance, and financial stewardship; and achieve organizational strategic goals. The Director assumes responsibility, authority, and accountability for assigned operations across the multi-specialty medical group, including day-to-day practice performance, standardization of workflows, regulatory readiness, service excellence, and achievement of operational goals. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Medical Group Operations for Parrish Medical Group. Key Responsibilities: Leads strategic and operational planning for assigned practices and service lines within the multi-specialty medical group; partners with physician, advanced practice provider, nursing, clinical support, and administrative leaders to improve access, growth, patient throughput, referral management, provider template utilization, and overall practice performance. Leads and directs strategic planning within assigned functional areas to anticipate current and future service solutions; influences the innovation, development, and growth of service strategies; assures the achievement of departmental dashboard metrics within each strategic pillar (People, Service, Quality, Growth, Finance); takes immediate and effective steps to assure national benchmarks are achieved or sustained. Develops, implements, and maintains administrative systems, processes, policies, and procedures that support excellent patient, family, visitor, provider, and internal customer experiences across all assigned practice locations, as measured by patient experience, access, complaint resolution, and other national or organizational best-practice benchmarks. Works in collaboration with the quality team to monitor reliable clinical operations that promote quality, safety, risk reduction, infection prevention, medication safety, documentation integrity, care coordination, and regulatory compliance within ambulatory practice settings; holds self, leaders, providers, and care partners accountable for actions, outcomes, and continuous improvement. Directs standardization, implementation, monitoring, and adherence to policies, procedures, workflows, and practice standards. Ensures compliance with Parrish Healthcare policies and applicable federal, state, local, payer, accreditation, and regulatory requirements affecting ambulatory healthcare operations, professional practice, privacy, billing, documentation, and patient safety. Collaborates with quality, compliance, revenue cycle, information technology, human resources, facilities, and other support departments to resolve complex operational issues, implement best practices, improve clinic efficiency, support electronic health record optimization, and maintain readiness for audits, surveys, and required reporting. Acts as the ADA Coordinator: knowing where the appropriate auxiliary aids are stored and how to operate them. Responsible for ensuring the maintenance, repair, replacement, and distribution of such aids. Additionally, the ADA Coordinator is responsible for working with the Human Resources & People Development Departments to ensure that all Parrish Healthcare Care Partners are trained on the auxiliary aids and services described in the Communications with Sensory Impaired or Language Barrier Patients. Builds and sustains an inclusive, collaborative, accountable, and healing work environment for clinical and administrative care partners. Provides leadership for recruitment, orientation, onboarding, training, professional development, performance management, succession planning, recognition, conflict resolution, and engagement initiatives that support the mission, vision, values, and safe care pledge. Monitors and drives achievement of key performance indicators, including access, visit volume, provider productivity, staffing effectiveness, patient experience, quality, safety, revenue capture, referral leakage, prior authorization workflows, call management, and other operational metrics established for the medical group. Leads effective financial planning and stewardship for assigned practices, including operating and capital budget development, labor and non-labor expense management, productivity monitoring, supply utilization, revenue cycle collaboration, corrective action planning, and identification of opportunities to improve margin while maintaining quality, safety, access, and service standards. Serves as a key liaison between medical group leadership, providers, practice leaders, hospital departments, community partners, and external stakeholders to support coordinated operations, service line development, change management, and issue resolution. Performs similar or related duties as assigned and knows fire, disaster, emergency preparedness, workplace violence prevention, and safety procedures and regulations as they pertain to assigned practice locations and work areas. Requirements: Formal Education: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, clinical discipline, or related field required. Master’s Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or related field preferred. Work Experience: Five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership experience required. Two (2) to Five (5) years of progressive healthcare operations experience preferred, preferably in a multi-specialty medical group, ambulatory practice, physician enterprise, or integrated delivery system Experience leading both clinical and administrative teams preferred. Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required within one (1) year of employment. Current clinical license may be required if applicable to assigned areas of responsibility.
