RN Operating Room

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team. This role involves assessing patient needs, planning and implementing individualized care, promoting health and safety, and evaluating nursing practices. The RN is expected to maintain professional standards, provide leadership, and participate in ongoing education, particularly related to stroke competency. The position requires flexibility to work variable day shifts with on-call duties. Responsibilities: Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation (Assessment). Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis). Identify expected outcomes and develop individualized plans of care. Implement the identified plan of care effectively. Promote health and maintain a safe environment for patients. Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice systematically. Attain and maintain knowledge and competency reflecting current nursing practices. Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards and regulations. Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into nursing practice. Provide leadership within the professional practice setting and the nursing profession. Comply with hospital policies related to care for patients with hyperacute and acute stroke. Participate in stroke education as required. Required Skills & Certifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing, Associate degree, or Diploma in Nursing. Active Registered Nurse license in Montana. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Minimum of 18 months Registered Nurse experience. Strong judgment, professionalism, and ability to work in a busy, stressful environment. Stroke competency education within one year of hire. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential. At least 1 year of circulating experience in the OR. At least 1 year of scrub experience in the OR. Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Special Considerations: Must maintain tact, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality at all times. Ability to work varied shifts and handle on-call responsibilities. Compliance with hospital policies and protocols for stroke patient care. Self-directed with minimal oversight required.
