Job Description
SOFTWARE ENGINEER SENIOR
Transform technology into opportunity as a Software Engineer Senior at GDIT. Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTThe Software Engineer shall be responsible for collaborating with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Project Software Engineers to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and sustain a mission-focused enterprise web application deployed in a containerized Kubernetes Linux environment. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Engineer Senior must have:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
● Experience: 5+ years of related experience
● Security clearance required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
● Position Required Skills:
• Experience using the Linux CLI and Tool Suite
• Experience developing Bash/Python scripts
• Experience developing with Python in a Linux environment
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Familiar with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
• Experience with SQL technologies such as MySQL
• Experience with designing and implementing REST interfaces
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with Git Source Control System
● Position Desired Skills:
Experience with the Django Web framework
Experience with the Celery Task Scheduler
Experience with NGINX
Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
Experience with AI Development Tools such as Claude Code
