Mechanical Design Engineer

Georgetown, KY

An Automotive Supplier is looking for a  Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. Company offers:

Position Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be expected to oversee projects from start to finish, with the primary role of designer. You will be expected to effectively collaborate with our Electrical and Sales team, as well as work with customers to ensure we consistently deliver projects at or above expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Mechanical Design of various material handling systems (Ex. Conveyors, Robots, Machines, AGV’s).

· Demonstrate proficient 3-D modeling of parts and assemblies.

· Meet with customers to discuss equipment throughout projects.

· Effective project management from start to finish.

· Oversee in-house and outsource fabrication, assembly, and testing of equipment

· Delivery of projects on-time and under-budget.

· Ability to oversee/collaborate with multiple projects concurrently.

· Develop understanding and knowledge of both existing and new products.

· Selecting parts/equipment and writing purchase requisitions.

· Cost estimating and quotations.

· Effective communication skills and knowledge of mechanical design.

· Equipment troubleshooting/commissioning.

· Field installation and start-up support.

· Customer documentation.

Job Requirements

· Solidworks (Required)

· AutoCAD (Required)

· Microsoft Office(Required)

· Automotive Experience preferred

· Pneumatics

· Equipment Guarding

· Electromechanical

· Project Management

· Communication skills

Education:

Degree in Engineering or related field

Travel Requirements:

· 30% travel is required (Varies)
