Rehabilitation Technician - Per Diem

Hourly Pay Range $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights Position: Rehabilitation Technician - Per Diem Location: Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst IL Additional Floating Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville IL Per Diem/PRN Hours: 2 Weekend shifts required per month (Saturday or Sunday). 8am to 4:30pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm (flexible start time of 8am or 9am). Holidays: One Summer and One Winter Holiday What you will do Under close supervision, clean and disinfect assigned areas according to prescribed procedures. Assist in preparing equipment for patients' use, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment, and replenish supplies as needed. Transport patients to and from department as needed and perform general clerical duties such as answering phones, taking and relaying messages, and the like. Assist in wound care and dressing applications and changes in hydrotherapy. What you will need Education : Requires a high school level of communication and/or math skills but no technical training prior to hire and less than three months of previous experience plus approximately one to three months of on‑job experience. Certification : Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by either American Heart Association. Experience : Prior Rehabilitation Aide experience, preferred. Unique or Preferred Skills : Work requires the ability to walk or stand for an hour or more at a time, lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds, push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys or wheelchairs, and lift and position patients. Work requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
