Job TitleJob DescriptionThe responsibilities of this job are to provide support to the retail and wholesale platform in loan decisions, underwriting guidance, and scenario questions based on GSE guidelines and requirements while ensuring and maintaining quality.ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance to both retail and TPO originators, processors, for questions regarding guidelines, income requirements scenarios.Maintain a small pipeline of loans to decision for final approval based on underwriting authority delegations.Review all appraisal types for final approval including issuing NOV's and HFS/USDA conditional requirements.Stay updated and attend refresher training for all investor guidelines.Review and respond to management for all QC/QA exceptions.Associates are expected to perform all additional duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED5 years In underwriting FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA and VA loansFHA DE certificationVA SAR and certificationExperience in underwriting FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA / USDA Rural Housing investor loansDocumented experience in mortgage loan underwritingGeneral understanding and knowledge of underwriting and compliance guidelinesWorking knowledge and experience with DeskTop Underwriter SystemExceptional organizational skills and strong communication skillsSuperior problem-solving skillsExcellent customer service skillsWorking knowledge of Excel, Word, and other PC applicationsCollege education preferredPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse requiring hand and wrist manipulation, while viewing computer screens.Disclaimer: Management retains the right to add, delete or modify the responsibilities and qualifications of the position at any time.
