Mobile Equipment Operator

Mobile Equipment OperatorArcosa Aggregates is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator based out of our North Opelika, AL plant. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile equipment used in mining. Equipment operated may include bulldozers, excavators, and loaders. The operator will perform tasks such as excavation, grading, and material handling in support of plant and production objectives.Day to DayActively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognitionComply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.The ability to operate at least 2 pieces of mobile equipment (haul truck, farm tractor, water truck, rubber tire backhoe, front loader, etc.)Operate equipment in quarry and daily hauling of material from mine pit to stockpile, plant or hopperPerforms walk-around pre-shift safety inspections and workplace inspections.Identifies any safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and any other areas where safety can be improvedCommunicates with load and unload areas, hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all plant traffic controlsOperate a front-end loader to efficiently and accurately load customer trucks and maintain stockpiles.Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers servicedPerform other duties or responsibilities as assignedAbout YouPrompt, regular, and predictable attendancePositive, Team-based attitudeThe ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as requiredThe ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)High school diploma or GED equivalentWorking ConditionsWhile most equipment has air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.BenefitsArcosa is proud to offer competitive benefits and programs to help you and your family meet your healthcare and retirement planning needs.
