Our specialized experience includes design for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, education, and other building types as well as structural and building sciences, infrastructure asset management, advanced robotics, and more.Our technical expertise is paired with an exceptional team of business development, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, and marketing professionals, all of whom play a key role in bringing our commitments to life every day.The Senior Electrical Engineer will work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment and will be responsible for designing building electrical systems and producing construction documentation for commercial projects, higher education, state and local government projects, multi-family housing projects, and healthcare projects. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to be part of our firm.General DutiesDesign of medium and low voltage main electrical systems including main distribution panels, lighting, general power, and fire alarm.Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.Develop electrical system design calculations.Prepare detailed design documents in REVIT.Perform QA/QC design work.Coordinate with Owners and Architects.Coordinate work with other disciplines.Complete code compliance research.Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.Performing site investigations.Coordinating with the client, utilities, fire marshal and code enforcement officials.Reviewing shop drawings and assist with general construction services.SkillsProficient working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA.Proficient working knowledge of Building Codes.Excellent work ethic and attitude.Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work.Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team.Proficient in AutoCad, Revit and MS Office.QualificationsYou have a minimum of 10 years design experience as a designer or registered engineer.You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.You have experience with electrical systems and projects.LEED experience or certification is a plus.You are familiar with codes, standards and design guidelines.Location: Richmond, VAEqual Opportunity Employment StatementSalas O'Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state/provincial, or local laws.
