Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of products, equipment, and manufacturing processes. This role assists with engineering projects by creating and modifying drawings and 3D models, preparing technical documentation, conducting testing and inspections, and supporting design validation activities. The Mechanical Engineer works closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to solve technical problems, improve product performance, and ensure projects are completed on schedule.

This position is based onsite in North Little Rock, Arkansas. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

• Create, update, and maintain SolidWorks drawings and 3D models for products, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Support product development and machine design projects from concept through implementation.
• Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, specifications, and design records.
• Assist with design validation activities to ensure products and equipment meet performance, quality, and safety requirements.
• Conduct product testing, inspections, and evaluations to verify functionality and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify equipment, process, and design issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams on project initiatives.
• Track project schedules, milestones, and progress to support timely project completion.
• Learn and utilize company systems, engineering software, standards, and procedures.
• Receive training and mentorship from senior engineers to develop technical knowledge and engineering skills.
• Continuously develop problem-solving, analytical, and technical capabilities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, workflows, and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks software for product, fixture, and tooling design.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation practices.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized with strong project management abilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications / Prior Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field required.
• 0–2 years of engineering experience; internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks software and 3D modeling applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting in both office and production environments.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for inspecting parts and working with tooling.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in manufacturing areas.
• Occasional travel required (less than 10%).
