Safety Technician

Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work and is interested in building experience in safety and environmental operations? You’ll conduct safety and environmental inspections on equipment. Position Summary The Safety Technician supports workplace safety and environmental compliance by conducting routine inspections, assisting with hazardous waste management, maintaining safety equipment, and supporting chemical and waste-handling activities. This is a hands-on position that involves working in plant, laboratory, and outdoor environments and operating heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities Conduct safety and environmental inspections of secondary containment systems, fire extinguishers, safety showers, chemical storage areas, heavy equipment, and other safety-related equipment. Assist with bulk hazardous waste management, including collecting samples from waste containers, preparing and reviewing required documentation, and preparing containers for proper handling and disposal. Operate a forklift to safely move hazardous waste containers and other materials. Label chemicals and waste containers according to established safety and environmental procedures. Assist with chemical waste collection, handling, and disposal activities. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. No previous professional experience. Hands-on experience working with or operating heavy equipment preferred. Experience working with chemicals or chemical processes, such as laboratory technician experience, is a plus. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Valid driver's license with a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
