Staff Accountant

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in more than 30 practice and industry groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Staff Accountant to support our Accounting Department in our Syracuse, NY office location. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to ensure that information is properly posted in the general ledger. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide support to various areas of the accounting department.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain monthly bank and other various general ledger account reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Analyze financial transactions to ensure proper posting within the general ledger.
• Monitor the Accounting Support Helpline, provide information, and assist clients, attorneys, and administrative assistants as necessary
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Assist with special projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in an accounting department is preferred
• Experience with Aderant, Elite Enterprise or other large automated accounting system a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Strong analytical skills required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Must be a team player, able to work independently, and be customer service focused
• Must be able to sit for 8 hours per day at a personal computer

This position's salary range is between $55,000 and $65,000 negotiable based on years' experience.
