Under general supervision, the Staff Accountant will assist in maintaining general ledger accounts and conduct other accounting-related activities. Provide a record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions. Balance books periodically and prepare profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements. Maintain receipts and disbursement reports. May plan, conduct, and participate in the basic analysis of cost assignments, ensuring that all assigned projects adhere to accepted cost accounting standards. Assist in the preparation of management reports that measure performance against key objectives and strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial information utilizing the applicable support systems. Duties include preparing journal entries, coding invoices/vouchers, reconciling the balance sheet and analyzing variances
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation records
- Review and reconcile receivables and recommend accruals
- May perform basic analysis of cost records to ascertain the distribution of costs for various divisions of management and production
- May classify labor, material, and overhead costs to compute uni costs of products for services
- Analyze actual costs versus standard costs and prepare reports of variances. Compile cost data for preparation of operating budgets
- Prepares other reports and assist in special projects and analyses as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Ability to demonstrate good problem-solving skills and apply proven solutions
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in discipline related to function of work
- OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience
General PC skills, including ability to utilize MS Office Suite, especially Excel (vlookup, pivot tables)

Qualifications:
- Able to demonstrates ability to solve somewhat more complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job. Must be able to recognize anomalies and critical situations and respond appropriately.
