Service Technician Position
The responsibilities of a Service Technician at Joe Lunghamer Chevrolet include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles. State of Michigan Repair License are required by law. Any ASE Certifications are a bonus and highly regarded! No General Motors experience is required but a benefit.
New $30 million Dealership being built on North Telegraph (M24)!!! Breaking ground in August of 2026.
The Joe Lunghamer Chevrolet Service Department has not ran out of carry over work for 2+ years!!!

Service Technician Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive Pay ($40-70 an hour flat rate pay with guarantee!)
- Flexible Working Hours (Service Department is Open 8:00am to 5:00pm for Technicians. NO SATURDAYS!!!

- PTO & Sick Leave
- Technician Year End Bonus (paid in December based on total gross)

Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
- Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
- Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Service Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
- Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Fast, eager learner and team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Computer skills and willingness to learn new problems
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Clean driving record & valid drivers license
