Telemetry TechnicianMonitor and report patient cardiac rhythm status twenty four hours a day; seven days a week. To interpret and communicate changes in a patients cardiac rhythm in real time to the bedside nurse.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitor and communicate patient's cardiac rhythm in real time.Interpret telemetry strips and disseminate to bedside nurse.Stock and maintain telemetry boxes and supplies required for telemetry monitoring on all cardiac units.Minimal QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED to enter into a hospital training program required andAssociate's degree in EKG Technician preferred andMedical knowledge and EKG interpretation preferredExperienceLess than 1 year Work related experience requiredKnowledge Skills and AbilitiesAbility to comprehend and follow the policies and procedures for MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center.Ability to read write and speak or communicate in English to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the position.Ability to demonstrate ethical behavior that supports the hospital's mission values and commitment to compliance with all federal state and regulatory laws.
