This role is based at Edwards Air Force Base (Edwards AFB), California , and sits within the Security function supporting on-site physical security and Security and Crisis Management (SCM) program execution. The position helps protect GE Aerospace employees and assets at the site, coordinates with internal stakeholders, and supports incident response and reporting in alignment with enterprise expectations and applicable site requirements.

Role Overview

The Lead Security Specialist 1 - Site Security is responsible for implementing and managing the site's Physical Security and Security and Crisis Management (SCM) program to protect employees and assets. The role applies in-depth knowledge of security practices and analytical thinking to execute policy and strategy, identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, and ensure timely reporting and resolution of security incidents.

This position operates with some autonomy under well-defined policies and functional practices, using judgment to address day-to-day issues and propose solutions when situations fall outside standard parameters.

Key Responsibilities

• SCM Program Execution : Implement and manage the GE Security and Crisis Management program at the site level, ensuring consistent execution and readiness.
• Vulnerability Identification & Mitigation : Identify physical security and crisis management vulnerabilities; develop and support mitigation actions to reduce risk.
• Incident Reporting & Follow-Up : Report security incidents in the GE security incident reporting system and support follow-up actions to closure.
• Policy and Strategy Implementation : Execute security policy/strategy using technical experience and analytical thinking; apply best practices within the security discipline.
• Daily Issue Resolution : Address day-to-day security problems using sound judgment; prioritize information for analysis and recommend solutions outside set parameters when needed.
• Decision Support : Use multiple internal and limited external sources beyond the immediate team to inform decisions and resolve more complex issues.
• Team Support & Coaching : Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues; explain information clearly and help teams come to alignment on security topics.
• Small Project Leadership : May lead small projects with low risk and modest resource requirements, ensuring outcomes meet quality, volume, and timeliness standards.
• Performance Expectations & Sensitive Issues : Convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues appropriately, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Physical Security.

Additional Information

• The base pay range for this position is $107,000.00 - $143,000.00. This posting is expected to close on September 29th, 2026. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
