Peninsula Catholic High School in Newport News, Virginia has an immediate opening for a Licensed Registered Nurse /Administrative Assistant Position. This position is responsible for managing the school clinic and working with the Business Manager to provide clerical support to the areas of liturgies and finance. The position is a full-time twelve-month position.

Responsibilities and task are not limited to the following:

• Coordinating health services for students and faculty, including the ordering of supplies;
• Tracking student physicals for school and sports;
• Tracking and entering student immunization vaccines and ensuring compliance required by State Law;
• Entering and managing other health information into Student Management System;
• Administering and maintaining proper documentation of student medications;
• Managing Emergency information for students, faculty, and staff;
• Teach basic first aid, AED and CPR instruction to 9th grade health class students, Crisis Management team, and teachers seeking recertification
• Manage bio-hazardous material and its disposal throughout building;
• Equip faculty with required medical items, gloves, bandages, etc.;
• Manage disposal of unused and expired medications;
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic.
• Assisting the Business Manager with in-house deposits and tuition/fees billings, payment and service hour tracking, lunch program;
• Assisting the Business Manager with on-boarding of new employees, including Monitoring and maintaining records for OSHA Blood-borne Pathogens Standard training; and Managing School Safe Environment Program (Includes Background Screening process and Virtus training for all school employees and volunteers.

Requirements

Qualifications:

The School Nurse must be a Licensed Registered Nurse. Other qualifications include: the ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, efficiency, and promptness.
