Overview Cook/Food Service Worker UnityPoint Health -Allen Shift: Full-time; Days and Weekend. 5:30a-1:30p, 10:30a-7:00p This is a temp to hire position. TheFood Service Workerprovides safe,timely, andaccuratepreparation, assembly, delivery, and clean-up of meals and food items for patients, residents, and guests. The Cook position is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food for hospital patients, associates, and visitors. Maintains a clean workstation and uses recipes and temperature logs to ensure quality and safety standards are met.role supports quality care and customer satisfaction by following department procedures, food safety and sanitation guidelines, and customer service standards. Responsibilities Prepare and produce hot food items, supporting ordering, portioning, and assembly to ensuretimelyservice Handle, store, andmaintainfood safely and cost-effectively in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures,maintainingequipment cleanliness and proper operation Follow recipes and procedures to ensure high-quality, safe, and appealing meals Train team members,maintaincleaning logs, manage food inventory, and help reduce waste Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence in alignment with UnityPoint Health values Qualifications Education: High School Education or Equivalentrequired. Experience: At least one yearofcooking or food service experience and the ability to perform at the cook’s level within six months in this positionrequired. Preferred:Two years of cooking experience in a healthcare or restaurant setting preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): Food Handler Certification SERVSAFEupon hire.
