Purpose Produce mechanical design deliverables to complete project scopes of work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers. Lead the design effort for projects of all sizes with minimal supervision. The role consists of frequent inter-organizational and customer interaction. Additionally, you will be engaged to participate in project scoping, planning, status reporting and scope management. Computer Aided Design (CAD) Project Status Reporting Responsibilities: Provides computer aided design (CAD) drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches. Coordinates and consults with engineers or other designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards. Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables. Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities. Present design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders. Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements. Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule. Supports proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying list of deliverables, and estimating effort required. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Works autonomously. Prepares, reviews, and approves mechanical equipment and piping BOMs and designs. Qualifications Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent preferred. Ten or more (10+) years of relevant experience. Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal. High level of personal integrity. Strong relationship capabilities. Proficient in both written and spoken. Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours. Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds. Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
