RN - Med Surg - PRN

Job Description – RN – Med Surg – PRN (7427-1620) Georgetown Community Hospital a 12 minute drive from Lexington, KY is searching for a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit. This is a PRN position and you would be a member of a highly skilled team of Acute Care nurses, physicians, and technicians. Your graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current RN license, current BLS certification, and ability to acquire ACLS within a year are the minimum requirements. Responsibilities Ensure delivery of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Act as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient. Qualifications Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree (BSN) or higher preferred. Current unencumbered license by the KY Board of Nursing. ACLS certification within 1 year of hire. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
