Communications Coordinator

Role: Communications Coordinator Location: Washington, DC Metro Area Type: Full-Time Contract / Hybrid About the Team:
Join a national, mission-driven organization seeking immediate communications support during a busy period. You will work with a collaborative team supporting media, digital, and organizational communications. What You'll Do:
• Draft, proofread, and coordinate newsletters, press materials, talking points, and internal updates.
• Monitor relevant national and regional news and prepare daily media summaries.
• Maintain media lists, contact databases, shared files, and team resources.
• Coordinate calendars, meetings, deadlines, and project logistics.
• Track media coverage, communications activity, metrics, and follow-up items.
• Support cross-functional communications requests and special projects.
• Keep priorities moving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Core Tech & Skills:
• 2 years of communications, public relations, or administrative experience
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Communications material coordination
• News and media monitoring
• Microsoft Office
• Calendar and project coordination
• Strong attention to detail Nice to Have:
• Social media or digital communications exposure
• Familiarity with media-monitoring platforms
• Immediate availability
