Overview
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Travel assignment in Middlebury, Vermont. Start date: 07/09/2026 for 4 weeks. Shift: 12-hour nights (3x12). Weekly pay: $2,081 to $2,188. No guaranteed hours. You’ll work in a hospital-based respiratory care department within a 25-bed critical access facility, rotating across units as needed and providing patient-centered care to a diverse population.

Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and monitor respiratory therapies for patients across age groups, including prescribed inhaled medications, chest physiotherapy, and aerosolized therapies
- Operate, troubleshoot, and manage mechanical ventilation and weaning under physician and care-team guidance; obtain and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) as required
- Document all patient care in the EMR (Epic), communicate findings to the care team, and ensure accurate medication administration and equipment management
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to develop and adjust care plans; contribute to patient and family education
- Perform unit coverage as assigned, with floating to Medical/Surgical, Emergency Department, and Birthing Center services; adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Maintain equipment readiness, participate in daily rounds, and follow facility protocols for safety, quality improvement, and documentation

Requirements
- Active Vermont Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or eligibility) with license on file at submission
- NBRC certification: Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist or eligible to take the NBRC written exam
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications; NRP required upon submission
- NICU experience within the last year; patient population includes all ages
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience; 2+ years in a respiratory care specialty
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is preferred and may be required
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with the capacity to float to M/S, ED, and Birthing Center areas
