Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and lead parent support groups, ensuring a therapeutic environment where individuals can discuss their challenges and successes.
• Provide specialized training and guidance for parents managing children with mental health needs, emphasizing strategies that address parenting complexities, especially for those with prenatally substance-exposed children.
• Conduct comprehensive developmental evaluations for children, following standardized assessment tools to identify their needs and strengths.
• Deliver temperament counseling to parents, focusing on understanding and supporting the emotional and behavioral needs of their children.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided, utilizing EMR systems for streamlined record-keeping and reporting.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves families navigating the complexities of mental health disorders, particularly focusing on children and their parents. You will interact with clients dealing with trauma, adoption issues, and developmental concerns. Awareness of child development, parenting approaches, and experiences with child abuse and neglect is essential in providing effective support and guidance.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate program.
• Current and active Clinical Social Worker License (LCSW) without restrictions.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with at least one year in a mental health-focused role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead parent-child interventions and advocate for the welfare of children.
• Strong knowledge base in normal child development and the impact of parenting practices on child outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in case management and social work within a healthcare or mental health service setting.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices related to family therapy and behavioral health interventions.

Compensation and Benefits
