divh2Paramedic/h2pThe role of a paramedic is to provide safe and efficient response, treatment, and transportation of all persons requesting or requiring emergent or non-emergent medical services. In addition to providing treatment onsite or during ambulance transportation in trauma, cardiac, or respiratory emergencies, medics also perform complex prehospital care including inserting IV lines, administering medications, and monitoring electrocardiograms (EKGs)./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliDeliver quality patient care in accordance with clinical policies, statewide protocol, and standards of care/liliAttend to patients in a courteous and professional manner/liliOperate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations; company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes./liliComplete an ambulance and medical equipment checklist at the beginning of each assigned shift. Inspect and clean the assigned ambulance and all medical equipment to ensure compliance with minimum stock requirements and proper function./liliComplete and submit all documentation/paperwork PCR requirements daily./liliCommunicate effectively and professionally with internal and external individuals, including agencies, physicians, and other healthcare providers at all times./liliBe knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines./liliPerform daily housekeeping duties at assigned bases of operation/liliMaintains knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times./liliMust maintain a reliable attendance and reports as scheduled and required/liliCompletes other duties as requested and assigned/li/ulh3Education:/h3ulliHigh school diploma or GED equivalent./liliAssociate degree or higher preferred/li/ulh3Licensure, Certification, Registration:/h3ulliCurrent valid drivers license/liliCurrent Massachusetts Paramedic Certification/liliNational Registry Paramedic Certification/liliCurrent CPR and ACLS Certification/li/ulh3Experience:/h3ulliMinimum of 1-3 years of prior working EMT B or A experience required/liliExperience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications preferred./li/ulh3Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:/h3ulliAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions./liliStrong Organizational Skills/liliAnalytical skills to gather and interpret data in various situations and settings./liliAbility to exercise sound judgment and discretion while working in a stressful environment/liliAbility to identify and provide practical solutions to solve problems and conflicts./liliCommitment to provide exemplary customer service, maintaining professional and courteous interactions at all times./li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliMust be 18 years of age or older/liliAbility to meet the essential duties and physical, mental and sensory requirements of the position at all times./liliComply with UDS drug screening at any and all times/liliSatisfactory background check and MA CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), verification required annually./liliVerification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, verification required annually./li/ulh3Physical Requirements:/h3pThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met and maintained by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
