Licensed Practical Nurse - Part Time Days 12-hour shift

We maintain professionalism, integrity, and commitment as we solve problems and make lives easier.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Understands and performs work within the LPN’s scope of practiceTimely and accurately plan and deliver nursing care to patientsCheck and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriatePrioritize intake screenings (completed by correctional officers) for necessity and priority at sick callProvide patient education on topics such as the correctional facility’s policies and discharge planningAdminister prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitionerRecord information in chronic clinic and outcome study documents as indicatedProvide emergency first aid care, as appropriateReport reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the patients’ emotional or physical conditionCollect and record data for CQI (continuous quality improvement) reportingRecord care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate formsCollaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment, as directed by the practitionerMaintain and demonstrate working knowledge of pharmacology, including drug reaction/overdoseMaintain and demonstrate working knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutritionCollaborate with the medical and security staff to coordinate on- and off-site medical services for diagnosis and treatment as directed by the practitionerUtilizes Universal Precautions as a mechanism for infection prevention and controlMaintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices as required by government agenciesNotify supervisor of medical and security incidentsPresent/participate in in-service education sessionsMay be asked to cover shifts at other ACH clients’ correctional facilities.May be asked to train new hires and coworkersAny and all other duties as assignedActive nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standingBasic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on trainingExcellent documentation skillsKnowledge of the LPN scope of practiceBenefits (Benefits eligibility is determined by employment status):Referral program401(k) w/employer matchHealth insuranceVision insuranceDental insuranceProfessional DevelopmentPaid Time OffDisability Insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr Advanced Correctional Healthcare
