Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a medically fragile student in a school-based 1:1 role. This critical assignment runs for a 9-week introductory period (8/24–10/23) with the strong possibility to extend through the full academic year if all goes well. Working closely with one student, you’ll make an immediate and lasting impact, while collaborating with a dedicated educational team.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid paraprofessional licensure in Virginia, or an Associate’s degree or higher (please provide upon applying)
• Proven comfort and hands-on experience supporting students with medical needs, including seizure protocols, wheelchair transfers, and toileting assistance
• Calm, compassionate demeanor and ability to remain attentive during medical events
• Reliable attendance and a dedication to the student’s care and educational success

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 assistance to a medically fragile student during all school activities
• Follow individualized care plans, respond promptly to medical needs, and communicate regularly with nursing/clinical staff
• Support physical needs, including safe wheelchair mobility, positioning, and hygiene tasks
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment adapted to the student’s learning and health requirements
• Maintain thorough records of observations, incidents, and progress, sharing updates with the instructional team
