Pharmacy Technician
Provides support to pharmacists and other care team members by gathering and recording accurate information related to patients' home or prescribed medications at a proficient level.
Responsibilities:
- Interacts with patients and/or patient representatives to compile a valid list of home medications. Performs verification and clarification of information with the patient and pharmacist/care team members.
- Communicates with retail pharmacies, ambulatory care clinics, third-party insurance, patients, and other resources to gather information and recognize knowledge of appropriate/specific drugs within scope. Maintains accuracy in data collection.
- Assists department to accurately resolve patient safety issues related to medication use.
- Records and submits information in the patients EHR and/or other related programs in a timely manner.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Pharmacy Technician certification from Colorado Board of Pharmacy (PHAT).
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent.
