Ground Maintenance / Landscaper

Job Description Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and respectful Grounds Crew Worker / Landscaper to help maintain the beauty, safety, and dignity of our cemetery grounds. This role is responsible for landscaping, lawn care, and general upkeep to ensure a peaceful, well-kept environment for visitors and families. Key Responsibilities Perform routine lawn maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, and fertilizing Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation Maintain cemetery plots, headstones, and memorial areas with care and precision Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools Assist with grave preparation and restoration (e.g., sod placement, leveling soil) Remove debris, leaves, and litter from grounds and walkways Maintain irrigation systems and assist with seasonal tasks like snow removal or leaf cleanup Follow safety procedures and respect all cemetery regulations and protocols Interact courteously with visitors, maintaining a quiet and professional demeanor at all times Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor labor experience is a plus Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely Physically able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods) Strong attention to detail and respect for sensitive environments Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Work Environment Primarily outdoors in all weather conditions May involve exposure to noise, dust, and pollen Work conducted in a quiet, respectful setting requiring professionalism and discretion
