Speech‑Language Pathologist – Homebound Medical Instruction Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Tiverton Public Schools – Tiverton, Rhode Island Position Title: Speech‑Language Pathologist (Homebound Medical Instruction) Location: Student home setting within Tiverton, RI Position Type: Part‑Time/Per Diem Start Date: Immediate Opening Position Summary: Tiverton Public Schools is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students receiving homebound medical instruction. The successful candidate will support students with communication needs through individualized, evidence‑based interventions designed to promote progress toward IEP goals and continued access to educational programming. Essential Responsibilities Provide direct speech‑language therapy services to students receiving homebound instruction. Conduct speech and language evaluations and reassessments as required. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals. Collaborate with family, educators, related service providers, and medical professionals to support student success. Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation as applicable. Participate in IEP team meetings and provide recommendations regarding speech‑language needs and services. Consult with family and educational staff regarding communication strategies and supports. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Rhode Island Department of Education regulations, and district procedures. Qualifications Master's Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology. Current Rhode Island licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist. Experience working with children with complex disabilities. Knowledge of special education regulations, evaluation procedures, and IEP development. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing services in home‑based, educational, or pediatric settings. Experience supporting students with complex communication needs, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, and/or medically fragile conditions. Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. At least 2 years of relevant experience (preferred). Master's degree (preferred).
