Physician Assistant

to join its expanding

Orthopedic Surgery

team with a specialized focus on

osteoporosis care . This position supports a collaborative academic practice dedicated to comprehensive osteoporosis management, including the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic fragility fractures and metabolic bone health optimization.

The selected provider will collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, residents, fellows, and multidisciplinary care teams in outpatient clinic settings. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a provider interested in practicing within an academic medical environment while developing specialized expertise in osteoporosis management.

Essential Functions: Assess, diagnose, and manage osteoporosis in orthopedic fracture patients

Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, residents, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary care teams

Provide comprehensive patient education on bone health, osteoporosis treatment options, and injury prevention strategies

Promote bone health awareness initiatives to prevent recurrent fractures

Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including bone mineral density scans, laboratory tests, and radiographic imaging

Prescribe and monitor evidence-based osteoporosis treatment regimens

Coordinate referrals and facilitate care transitions to primary care providers and subspecialty services

Monitor clinical outcomes and promote adherence to evidence-based best practices

Provide care across designated Banner University Medical Center Tucson outpatient clinic locations

Minimum Qualifications: Current, unrestricted Arizona Physician Assistant license certification

Current BLS and CPR certification

Active DEA registration and prescribing privileges

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic setting

Orthopedic, rheumatology, endocrinology, osteoporosis, or musculoskeletal experience preferred

Highly qualified new graduates with a demonstrated interest in orthopedics and osteoporosis/bone health are encouraged to apply.

Work Schedule: Full Time | Monday through Friday |Day shift

No call | No weekends
