Aircraft Electrical TechnicianThe Aircraft Electrician will perform avionics troubleshooting, installations, repairs, maintenance, and modifications to the avionics and electrical systems of F/A-18 aircraft. These modifications include upgrades to the Radar Package, Communications, and Comm Sec equipment, among other possible upgrades.ResponsibilitiesPerform troubleshooting on avionics systems and electrical components.Install and repair fiber optic cables and harnesses.Conduct maintenance and modifications on F/A-18 aircraft, specifically focusing on electrical systems.Upgrade and modify radar and communication systems.Perform operational level maintenance on fighter jets, including F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and Super Hornet models.Essential SkillsExperience in avionics systems troubleshooting.Proficiency in fiber optic installation and maintenance.Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.4 - 7 years of depot or heavy maintenance experience on aircraft electrical systems.F-18 experience highly preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsNavy Ratings of AE or AT are highly preferred.Experience with NAV - magic box is advantageous.Eligibility for SECRET clearance is required.Must be eligible for a Boeing badge, with no terminations on record.Why Work Here?Join a stable program that offers government holidays and the opportunity to support two of the most reputable government integrators in the world. The environment is mostly indoors but in a non-climate-controlled hangar. Be open to working either the 1st or 2nd shift.Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
