CHIEF Engineer

Assistant Chief EngineerThe Assistant Chief Engineer oversees the day-to-day operation of the Engineering Department, which includes planning, directing, scheduling, performance management, room and property maintenance, and project implementation.Essential Functions:Implement, administer, and manage the Engineering Department's programs and systems under the direction of the Chief Engineer.Directly supervise Engineering activities and maintenance personnel as directed by the Chief Engineer, including standards of performance, training, and overall welfareOversee the efficiency and productivity of the engineering department through the computerized maintenance management systemEnsure compliance with health, safety, building codes, and other regulatory agenciesImplement and oversee property preventive maintenance programsEnsure that all department functions are performed according to the highest standardsConduct regular quality control inspectionsEnsure completion of all work order requests in a timely mannerMeet with Department liaisons to discuss work order prioritiesReview the Demand, Preventative Maintenance, and Planned Work Order reports to compare actual results with plannedSupervisory Responsibilities:Foster a cooperative and harmonious working atmosphere conducive to maximum employee morale and productivityResponsible for hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary authorityQualifications:Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentAt least five years' experience as a facility department manager at a major resort hotel and casinoStrong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry Statutes and RegulationsWorking knowledge of computer programs to include Word, Excel, and PowerPointKnowledge of HVAC Systems, Cooling Towers, Pump Systems, and Domestic Water SystemsAt least five years' experience in preparing and managing departmental budgets and forecastsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Engineering Local 501 and Teamsters Collective Bargaining AgreementsExperience in project management and contractor oversightLicenses & Certifications:Valid driver's license (Required)CPO Certification (Required)Nevada Class A/B UST Operator Training (Must acquire within 90 days of employment)HVAC Certification (Preferred)OSHA 30 (Preferred)Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize competing demands.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to read and interpret technical documentsWork Environment:Fast-paced hospitality environment.Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and operational conditions.May require evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.Must maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, tenants, and other employees with courtesy and tactfulness.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.Ability to climb ladders and work at varying heights.Ability to withstand regular exposure to extreme heat/cold, indoor environmental conditions, such as: noise, dust, cigarette smoke, varying lighting levels, etc.Safety-Sensitive Designation:This position has been designated as a Safety-Sensitive Position due to the nature of the duties performed and the potential impact impaired performance may have on the safety of Team Members, guests, Company property, and operations.
