Lead-Educator Surg Services- Full Time- Days (8a-4:30p)

This 877-bed academic hospital is recognized for clinical excellence, is staffed by the Henry Ford Medical Group and is recognized as a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Magnet facility. “Destination Grand,” a $2.2 billion development underway, includes a vastly expanded Henry Ford Hospital, with a new hospital facility and patient tower to open in 2029.GENERAL SUMMARY:Reviews, contributes, and proposes revisions to local policy, procedures and processes as needed, and acts as a general resource leader and subject matter expert (SME) to the Sterile Processing department. Educates new and existing associates in the department. RESPONSIBILITIES:Builds and maintains relationships with Surgical Support Services market leadership.Identifies education gaps and competency opportunities and serves as a subject matter resource when issues arise.Assists in the development of standard operating procedures and policies to ensure adherence to national standards.Develops and maintains onboarding materials.Develops competency programming for Sterile Processing associates and maintains tracking of skills development.Assists in recruitment efforts for roles within the Sterile Processing department.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.Graduate of Sterile Reprocessing College Course or Sterile Reprocessing Military experience preferred.Broad computer skills including Microsoft Software (Word, PowerPoint) preferred.Experience with SPM (instrument tracking system) preferred. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:Certified Surgical Reprocessing Technician preferred.
