Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher, supporting middle school learners in a self-contained, non-severe environment. This is a full-time, contract position dedicated to delivering individualized education and fostering meaningful progress for students with unique needs.
Your commitment will run from as soon as possible through June 4, 2027, granting the opportunity to build strong relationships and see significant student growth. The workday follows a consistent schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, providing structure and work-life balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credentials and certification.
- Experience teaching middle school students, ideally within a self-contained classroom setting.
- Deep understanding of educational plans (IEPs), accommodations, and differentiation.
- Compassion and patience when working with diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and students.
- Thorough organization and commitment to documentation and progress tracking.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, individualized lesson plans based on IEP goals.
- Lead a middle school self-contained classroom, ensuring a supportive and safe environment.
- Assess student strengths, monitor progress, and document outcomes regularly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Incorporate evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development sessions.
