AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Architect. This position is to be based in Columbus, OH. We’re looking for a leader in design & technical excellence. One who is driven by a passion for delivering quality work, mentoring staff, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.As a Senior Project Architect with recognized technical expertise and experience in demanding, design driven projects, you will lead interdisciplinary teams. Leveraging your industry experience and technical acumen, you will drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation, and construction.About the Ohio Buildings + Places TeamOur Ohio practice - anchored by large studios in Columbus and Cleveland - is one of the most established and highest-performing B+P practices in AECOM’ s West Region. Since 2022, Ohio B+P projects have earned nearly 30 design awards, reflecting our commitment to craft, performance, resiliency, and innovation at every scale.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:In partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager, you will lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projectsSupporting the pursuit of exciting new projectsPrepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software toolsDevelop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems.Oversee the work of more junior designers and architectsManage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultant.Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officialsProvide quality control reviews of projects in the studio.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor of Architecture plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationLicensed as a registered architectDue to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and PowerPointWorking knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structuresCertification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBCAbility to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environmentDiverse knowledge of architecture principles and practicesMust be detail oriented, thorough, well-organized and effectively manage timeTeam player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiativesOutstanding oral communication and presentation skillsStrong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyConsultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skillsProactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectivelyAdditional InformationRelocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship is not available for this position.Occasional travel may be required for this position.Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
