Head of Data Center Services Sales

Responsibilities

• Carry the annual quota for Sprout's services revenue and gross profit, operating as an overlay to our sales organization. Our reps own the accounts; you own identifying and designing the services opportunities inside them, and you close alongside the rep.
• Scope and design solutions across physical decommissioning, installation and deployment, end-of-life spares capacity management and parts harvest, OEM/VAR RMA management, depot and repair, and secure data wipe and destruction.
• Serve as the senior technical voice in front of customer stakeholders (data center managers, IT operations leadership, and procurement) and deliver tailored presentations, proposals, and solution decks.
• Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and technical questionnaires with accurate, compelling, and compliant content.
• Win and execute multi-year Lifecycle-as-a-Service engagements.
• Hire and lead a solutions engineering and specialty services delivery team.
• Build a directly employed specialty delivery bench, including embedded on-site teams at customer facilities.
• Source and manage qualified vendors and subcontractors.
• Own the commercial construct and margin discipline on every engagement, partnering closely with our delivery organization on scope, capacity, and committed service levels.
• Productize new service lines with scope, price book, delivery runbook, and handoff criteria, and transition them into core delivery.
• Build and maintain monthly services reporting: embedded headcount, service volumes, and gross profit by customer.

Qualifications

Required

• 10+ years of relevant experience within a technology services company, OEM, or VAR, including time in a leadership or business-owner capacity.
• Direct experience selling and delivering solutions to hyperscale data center operators and the tier below hyperscale.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience within data center environments.
• Experience with server installation, rack-and-stack, and data center deployment at scale.
• Experience with end-of-life spares capacity management and parts harvesting.
• Working knowledge of OEM/VAR RMA management processes.
• Experience with logistics management for ITAD and spares, including chain of custody and secure transport.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting across server, storage, and networking equipment.
• Experience with secure data wipe and data destruction methods and standards.
• Demonstrated ownership of a revenue or gross profit number.
• Experience hiring, leading, and developing technical or delivery teams.
• Experience structuring and negotiating multi-year services agreements and master service agreements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to external customers.

Preferred

• Direct liquid cooling (DLC) or immersion cooling certification or demonstrated experience deploying liquid-cooled infrastructure.
• Experience standing up embedded or badged on-site technical teams at customer sites.
• Experience performing or managing third-party maintenance (TPM) break/fix support.
• Experience building a price book and productizing a service line for handoff to a delivery organization.
• Channel or partner development experience within the data center ecosystem.
• Industry certifications related to data destruction, asset disposition, or hardware maintenance (e.g., NAID AAA, R2, e-Stewards).
• Prior experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Solutions Director role.
