Custodian (Part Time)

The custodian is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the City Hall building and other facilities as needed. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring that all areas of the building are sanitary and presentable. Work is performed under general supervision from Head Custodian.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform routine housekeeping services as assigned, which normally include emptying trash receptacles, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, spot cleaning and cleaning and disinfecting restrooms
• Inspect facility to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained, addressing any issues promptly
• Respond to staff requests/concerns in a timely manner
• Ensures that all chemicals and hazardous materials used in the facility are properly controlled, issued and accounted for in accordance with all safety and national standards
• Ensures cleanliness and tidiness of common areas such as breakrooms, bathrooms, conference rooms, training room and lobby
• Main tain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with coworkers, citizens and staff
• Provide excellent service to enhance user satisfaction and facility reputation
• Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school. Preferred but not required.

One (1) or more years' experience in general maintenance, cleaning; or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job

Valid Georgia Driver's License.
