Mental Health Associate Opportunity

Arbour Hospital in Jamaica Plain is looking for a Mental Health Associate for a 32-hour (full-time) position. We provide high-quality care and service excellence across a continuum of specialized behavioral health services. Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice, providing a solid foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and strive to meet the needs of our communities with individualized behavioral health treatment. The Mental Health Associate is a vital part of Arbour Hospital's treatment team. Positions require employees to work every other weekend with a competitive shift differential for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

As a Lead Mental Health Associate, you will:

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
• Assist with patient groups and activities
• Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
• Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

Qualifications Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• College student who have obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, or human services are preferred
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain composure in a crisis situation
