Overview You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. Key Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility concerns. Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; follow EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) in accordance with BioLife Medical Affairs guidance. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate program in nursing that meets state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state where the role will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic; Current CPR and AED certification. Completed state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completed FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment. Compensation & Benefits Location: USA – TX – Humble Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (subject to qualifications and experience).
